A. Living Stream
The Living Stream is a model for the future, where a connection between built environment and landscape can facilitate vibrancy, culture and lifestyle. Hydrological systems in the site have been reconnected, restoring the landscape through the creation of a living stream, public park and fire pit. Riverside space becomes civic space for community events, celebration and cultural gatherings.
The vision is for a community-led project that preserves, fosters and celebrates the natural environment and local connections in ways that are accessible to all. By daylighting drainage to create a living stream, a landscape is reinstated, flowing through the site and supporting a range of native and edible plant species. This is a community-led development from start to finish, and a catalyst, with a strong focus on affordability, multi-generational living and knowledge sharing.
